This carpet is knotted by Kurdish nomads in western Iran. The nomads are nowadays resident, but used to wander along the borders of Iraq and Turkey. The patterns are often mina-khani, herati, geometrical rhombs and medallions. The colours used in the carpet is mostly dark with blue or red base colours.
Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.
